Record-Breaking Impact!

We are incredibly moved and proud to share a monumental milestone from our team in Kolkata. This past month, the team performed a staggering 1,570 treatments—a new record for the project.

This surge in impact is a direct result of our new operational strategy. By splitting into two distinct units, including a Rapid Response Team equipped with scooters, we have gained the agility to navigate the city’s most hard-to-reach areas. This specialized focus on accessibility is clearly paying off, allowing us to reach more cases than ever before.

What makes this achievement truly remarkable is the environment in which it was accomplished. The team hit these record numbers during the peak of the heat season, facing:

  • Extreme Temperatures: Consistent highs exceeding 49°C (120°F).
  • Challenging Humidity: Working through the most humid and draining weeks of the year.

Despite these grueling conditions, the team’s dedication never wavered. We want to extend a massive special shout-out to our Kolkata staff. Their resilience and hard work are the backbone of this mission, and we are honored to support their life-changing efforts on the ground.

Chiang Rai, Thailand

Our work in Chiang Rai continues to grow, and the last 30 days have been incredibly busy for our shelter and outreach teams. We are currently providing a safe haven for 51 dogs and cats at our shelter, but our impact extends far beyond our walls.

We recently completed another intensive sterilization event. In just 30 days, we successfully sterilized 69 animals, bringing our 2026 yearly total to 184 since January.

Sterilization is the most effective way to address the root cause of animal suffering. To put this into perspective:

  • Preventing Thousands of Unwanted Births: Experts estimate that just one unspayed female dog and her offspring can theoretically produce up to 67,000 puppies in six years.
  • Sustainable Impact: Based on conservative estimates for our region, the 184 sterilizations performed so far this year will prevent the birth of hundreds, if not thousands, of unwanted animals who would otherwise face lives of hunger and disease on the streets.

Beyond population control, our rescue mission remains a top priority. This month, we brought in several dogs from severe neglect cases. These resilient animals are now in our care, receiving the medical attention, nutrition, and love they need to recover. Watching them slowly get well again and regain their trust in humans is a powerful reminder of why we do this work.
