This past month brought a long-awaited forever home for Ma Fuang, 68 sterilizations, a major milestone for our Kolkata team member Doni, and improvements at our Chiang Rai shelter, where 50 dogs and cats receive care.

We provided an incredible 1,209 treatments in a single month! These included cases of cancer, vehicle accidents, fighting injuries and severe skin infections.
One of the biggest highlights this month was a special opportunity for our team member, Doni, who traveled to the Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) headquarters in India for an intensive two-week Veterinary Nurse Assistant training program.
Doni gained hands-on experience assisting with surgeries and learned valuable skills in animal rescue, surgery, Animal Birth Control (ABC), and veterinary care. She successfully completed the course with a 75% score and received her certificate.
For Doni, the experience was about much more than professional training. It was her first time flying and traveling away from home, and the experience gave her a tremendous boost in confidence and self-esteem. She is now returning to Kolkata with new skills and knowledge that she can share with our team, creating benefits that will extend directly to the animals in our care.
Chiang Rai, Thailand
We currently have 50 dogs and cats in our care at the Chiang Rai shelter, and this past month brought us a particularly special success story.
After spending nearly three years at the shelter, Ma Fuang (pictured in her new home!) has finally found her forever family! Seeing her leave the shelter and begin a new life with a loving family was an incredibly rewarding moment for our entire team.
We also held another important sterilization campaign, during which 68 dogs and cats were sterilized.
Sterilization is one of the most effective ways to prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of animals who ultimately end up abandoned, neglected, or in shelters. Depending on the animals’ ages and reproductive history, these 68 sterilizations could prevent hundreds—and potentially thousands—of unwanted births over their lifetimes.
We’re also continuing to invest in the shelter itself. We are currently upgrading equipment, including new kennels, while undertaking minor construction and improvement projects to make the facility safer, more comfortable, and more functional for the 50 animals who call it home.
