May was a very busy, and HOT, month for our teams. Your support kept vital work moving on the ground, from urgent rescues to ongoing care and recovery. Below, you’ll see some of the stories you made possible, along with the progress we are most proud of right now.

Kolkata, India
Our Kolkata team had another phenomenal month, performing 1,372 treatments for animals in need—our second-highest monthly treatment total ever recorded. This remarkable achievement came during the hottest period of the year, making the work especially challenging for our dedicated staff, who continued to provide lifesaving care despite difficult conditions.
This month also highlighted the power of community partnership. A group of local animal caretakers worked closely with our team to ensure that every dog in their neighborhood received vaccinations. Together, we successfully vaccinated 27 dogs, helping protect both the animals and the wider community. These supporters also made a financial contribution to Animal People Alliance, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to provide sterilization services and any additional care these animals may need in the future.
Their support serves as a powerful reminder that animal welfare organizations cannot succeed alone. Strong relationships with local communities allow us to reach more animals, respond more effectively to their needs, and create lasting change. Whether through donations, volunteering, advocacy, or simply helping us identify animals in need, community involvement can have a direct impact on saving lives.
Chiang Rai, Thailand
Our Chiang Rai team also had an outstanding month, highlighted by another successful sterilization event during which 67 animals were spayed or neutered. These events remain one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering and prevent future homelessness among dogs and cats in the region.
At our shelter, we are currently caring for 52 dogs and cats, each receiving the food, medical care, and compassion they need while they wait for permanent homes. We are also delighted to report that four dogs found loving adoptive families this month, giving them the opportunity to begin the next chapter of their lives.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the local community. Nearly every day, supporters have visited the shelter to donate much-needed supplies, including cat litter, food, toys, and other essential items. These contributions help us provide a higher standard of care for the animals who depend on us and ease the financial burden of operating the shelter.
