Kolkata, India
Monsoon season has arrived, and with it come new challenges for our team in Kolkata. Heavy rains flood streets, waterlogs alleyways, and turn already harsh conditions into dangerous ones for animals living on the street. Wounds get infected faster, skin diseases spread easily, and it becomes much harder for our team to reach animals in distress due to blocked roads and rising water levels.
Still, the team pushed through.
In July, we provided 733 individual treatments, addressing common issues like vehicle accidents, dogfight wounds, severe skin infections, and parasitic diseases. Despite the rain and difficult conditions, every treated animal was also vaccinated, helping prevent further disease outbreaks.
We’re also celebrating a happy milestone — one of our rescued cats found a forever home last month! Each adoption brings renewed hope and purpose to our work.
Chiang Rai, Thailand
In a single sterilization event, our team successfully spayed and neutered 75 animals — a life-saving intervention with long-reaching effects. Based on general estimates, sterilizing just one female dog or cat can prevent over 100 unwanted births in the next year alone. With 75 animals, that’s potentially thousands of lives prevented from being born into suffering or abandonment.
When severe flooding hit several communities along the Chiang Rai–Myanmar border, our team sprang into emergency response mode. They provided vital food, clean water, and medical care to displaced and injured animals, and helped local families clear debris from homes and front yards, showing compassion not just to animals, but to the people who live alongside them.
All this while continuing to provide daily care for the 54 rescued animals living at our Chiang Rai shelter — every one of them a survivor with a story, receiving love, healing, and safety thanks to your support.
RESCUE SPOTLIGHT
Saichon – Chiang Rai
Saichon is a cheerful, affectionate male dog around 1–2 years old, currently in our care in Chiang Rai.
He came to us with serious injuries — including a deep, infected wound in his left eye and a painful abscess near his armpit. After urgent treatment and lots of love, he’s now fully recovered.
Though he’s blind in one eye, Saichon is full of life and ready for a forever home.
We’re looking for a kind-hearted adopter who can see past his imperfections and give him the love he deserves.
If you live in Thailand please consider giving Saichon a new home!
2026 Thailand Volunteer &
Immersion Trip
January 31 – February 14
Discover the Heart of Northern Thailand: Chiang Rai & Nan
Join us for two unforgettable weeks combining hands-on animal rescue work, cultural immersion, and breathtaking landscapes.
We begin in Chiang Rai, where you’ll spend six days volunteering at the Animal People Alliance shelter—feeding, bathing, and caring for rescued dogs and cats. You’ll also visit tribal villages and engage with community-led animal welfare efforts while exploring the traditions of northern Thailand’s indigenous people.
Next, we retreat to the tranquil beauty of Nan Province, a hidden gem tucked in the misty mountains. For six nights, we’ll stay at the stunning Pim Pool Villa Nan, a serene oasis surrounded by nature. Here, you’ll unwind by the pool, enjoy peaceful surroundings, and explore the rich Lanna heritage of this unspoiled region.
This trip is a unique blend of meaningful service, cultural connection, and immersive travel—an opportunity to make a difference while discovering the soul of Thailand.
Spaces are limited—come make memories (and impact) that last a lifetime!
