This month, our teams in India and Thailand continued working tirelessly to save lives and improve the welfare of vulnerable animals. From a record-breaking 1,758 medical treatments in Kolkata to 69 sterilizations in Chiang Rai, our work is making a lasting difference. Behind every number is an individual animal given care, compassion and a second chance at life.

We provided a record 1,758 treatments in a single month—our highest ever!! These included cases of cancer, vehicle accidents, fighting injuries and severe skin infections.
Here is the story of one of those animals.
When our team first encountered this dog his condition was heartbreaking. His cancer had progressed severely, causing his eye to bleed and the damaged tissue to become infested with maggots. His owner had abandoned him, but a compassionate neighbor refused to look away and contacted our team for help.
When they arrived, our Field Director, Tusar ,was unsure whether he would survive but he decided he deserved every possible chance. After stabilizing his condition and supporting his liver with Liver Guard tablets, chemotherapy with Vincristine (Oncovin/Oncocristin) began. Treatment was carefully administered through intravenous injections and saline infusion, with his condition closely monitored throughout.
After weeks of dedicated care, patience and perseverance, his recovery has been remarkable. While cancer can recur and he will continue to be monitored, he is now healthy, comfortable and enjoying life again.
Chiang Rai, Thailand
Our Chiang Rai shelter is currently caring for 51 dogs and cats, providing them with food, medical care, shelter and daily attention. The rainy season continues to make life at the shelter particularly challenging, but our team remains committed to keeping the animals safe, healthy and comfortable.
Earlier this month, we held our latest sterilization campaign, successfully sterilizing 69 animals. The impact of this work extends far beyond the animals treated. By preventing unwanted litters, these 69 sterilizations could ultimately prevent hundreds, and potentially thousands, of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born over the coming years.
We are also beginning to plan several major upgrades to the shelter. These improvements will make the space more comfortable and enriching for the animals while also making it safer and more manageable for the team caring for them every day.
