Kolkata, India

So far in November our team has provided provided 573 treatments to animals in need across the city. Most of the cases were the everyday challenges we regularly encounter—dogfight wounds, skin diseases, vehicle injuries, and other common street-animal issues—but each one received the care and attention they deserved.

We were proud to host a volunteer team from Amit University last week. The group visited with our staff, observed our work and learned about the animal welfare situation in Kolkata and how they can make a difference and have an impact in their own area. Community outreach and education is a vital part of changing the attitudes about stray animals in India.

As we expand our efforts, Animal People Alliance is currently recruiting a certified paravet to join our Kolkata team in Behala. This role is vital in supporting daily treatment operations, rescue missions, and vaccination drives. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our mission, please email Nafiza at nafiza@animalpeoplealliance.net for details.

Chiang Rai, Thailand

This month has been wonderfully busy at our Chiang Rai shelter, where we are currently caring for 54 animals — each one receiving daily love, medical care, enrichment, and socialization from our dedicated team.

We also held another successful mass sterilization event, where 75 animals were sterilized. This single event will prevent an estimated 1,000–1,200 unwanted births in just the first year alone, and thousands more in the years that follow. Sterilization remains one of the most powerful interventions we can offer to reduce suffering, control the stray population humanely, and improve overall community health.

We’re thrilled to share that we have another sterilization event scheduled for December 13th, and preparations are already underway.

Finally, we were delighted to host a large volunteer team from an international school in Phuket, who joined us for a week of hands-on service. Their energy was incredible — helping with grooming outreach in local villages, assisting with daily animal care, and pitching in with important work around the shelter. Their contribution made a huge difference, and we’re deeply grateful for their support.

Celebrate Your Birthday by Changing Lives

Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate your birthday? Consider hosting a birthday fundraiser in support of Animal People Alliance. It’s a simple, impactful way to make a difference for vulnerable animals in Kolkata and Chiang Rai — and every donation goes directly toward medical treatments, vaccinations, sterilization, emergency rescues, and community outreach.

Best of all, your friends and family get to celebrate you by helping transform the life of an animal.

If you’re interested in organizing a birthday fundraiser on our behalf, we’d love to support you. Email us at info@animalpeoplealliance.net and we’ll provide everything you need — from logos, images, and videos to talking points and campaign guidance.

January 31 – February 14

Discover: Bangkok & Chiang Rai

Join us for two unforgettable weeks combining hands-on animal rescue work, cultural immersion, and breathtaking landscapes.

We’ll begin our journey in Bangkok, spending four unforgettable nights in Southeast Asia’s most vibrant city. You’ll take in all the iconic sights, enjoy time to explore at your own pace, and savor some of the most incredible meals you’ve ever tasted.

Next up is Chiang Rai, where you’ll spend six days volunteering at the Animal People Alliance funded shelter—feeding, bathing, and caring for rescued dogs and cats. You’ll also visit tribal villages and engage with community-led animal welfare efforts while exploring the traditions of northern Thailand’s indigenous people.

We also have a series of unforgettable day trips planned to showcase the best of Northern Thailand’s culture and landscapes. You’ll journey to the legendary Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, and explore the region’s fascinating history and breathtaking river views. We’ll visit the serene mountain gardens and royal villa at Doi Tung, surrounded by lush hills and cool breezes. Along the way, you’ll discover charming local villages, sample authentic northern cuisine, and enjoy a few hidden gems that most visitors never get to see—making every excursion both scenic and enriching.

This trip is a unique blend of meaningful service, cultural connection, and immersive travel—an opportunity to make a difference while discovering the soul of Thailand.

Spaces are limited—come make memories (and impact) that last a lifetime!
