A Message From Our Team
Dear Friends and Supporters
Because of your support, our teams continue to save lives and create brighter futures for animals in need. This past month brought 73 sterilizations in Chiang Rai, care for 51 shelter animals, 922 treatments and 964 vaccinations in Calcutta, and a major milestone as our Kolkata team surpassed 10,000 treatments year to date, alongside support for Sumoti Di and the 300 dogs she cares for.
Thank you for standing with our teams and the animals who depend on them.

Kolkata, India
This month, our team in Calcutta carried out 922 treatments and administered 964 vaccinations, continuing our commitment to providing essential veterinary care to animals in need.
Our year-to-date treatment total has now reached 10,855 — a tremendous milestone for the project! This is the first time we have surpassed 10,000 treatments this early in the year, reflecting the dedication of our team and the ongoing need for accessible animal healthcare in the communities we serve.
This month, we also want to shine a light on an extraordinary woman, Sumoti., an elderly local animal caregiver whose dedication to animals is truly inspiring.
For most of her life, Sumoti Di has devoted her days to caring for and feeding approximately 300 dogs in her locality. She is a lifeline for these animals, providing them with food, care, and compassion in circumstances where they might otherwise have no one looking out for them.
APA sponsors Sumoti Di’s work by covering the cost of food and also supports her with feeding activities periodically. Through this support, we help her continue the remarkable work she has dedicated her life to.
Chiang Rai, Thailand
This month, our shelter in Chiang Rai continues to provide care and protection for 51 animals.
We also held a sterilization event, during which we successfully sterilized 73 animals!
Sterilization is one of the most effective ways to prevent animal suffering and reduce the number of unwanted animals born on the streets. To put the impact into perspective, a single unsterilized female dog and her offspring can potentially produce tens of thousands of descendants over several years. Cats can reproduce even more rapidly.
By sterilizing these 73 animals, we are helping to prevent future generations of unwanted puppies and kittens, reducing pressure on local communities and shelters, and giving more animals the chance of a healthier, safer life.
Make sure you subscribe to our Youtube Channel and stay up to date on our work and get exclusive behind the scenes footage from our events and volunteer trips. An easy and entertaining way to support our mission!
